My Bucket List Goals

We all have things that we would like to do before we reach a certain age or simply in our life, so that we can proudly say “done that” and tick it off our list. As I created this blog to share my stories with you, I decided to write a post about my bucket list. For those of you who are not familiar with the term Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines bucket list as “a list of things that one has not done before but wants to do before dying”. Of course, I still want to achieve and do a lot of things throughout my life, so I can’t write about every single thing I’d like to do, but I will share with you my top 5.

So let’s start with the first one, shall we?

1. Bungee jumping. I love sports and all sorts of activities that give you an adrenaline rush, so of course bungee jumping had to be on top of my list. I would love to jump from a building or maybe from a bridge; I haven’t figured out all the details yet and I’m not sure yet when I will do this, but it’s something I definitely have to do at some point in my life.

2. Acting. This is something I have always dreamed about, and when I say always I mean ALWAYS. I have always wanted to act in a movie or TV show, or maybe even as an extra or as a supporting actor. I’m honestly not really fussed about what role I might get to play, I think I would be more than happy to play any role. Maybe a villain, superhero or just the girl next door.

3. Doing some charity work. Charity work is  something that I give high importance to. I have a good life -I honestly can’t complain about it- so that’s why for me it’s important to help others, to give back to society. It’s a good thing to give back to people without expecting something in return. In general I like to help others, whether it is my friends or even people I don’t know. Because what’s the world if we are not there for each other? I remember my first trip as a long haul cabin crew was to Los Angeles and Paris. In Paris I was eating at a restaurant with the rest of my crew when I saw a man with a body condition crawling on the street, and I thought to myself “and here I am with my pizza, and I need to pretend that I didn't see him? That everything is OK, because this is just how life is? Some people get to have everything they need and want while some other people get to have nothing at all?” In my opinion no human being should be crawling like that on the street. The reason why this person affected me so much was because I could tell that he wasn't faking it or anything, as some other people sadly do to fool others and take advantage of their kindness. But enough about this because one thing I've learned is that I can't help everyone in need even though I would love to do so.

4. Getting my motor license. Riding a motorcycle is very high on my list. My dad wouldn’t be so happy with this but it’s my life and something that I really want to do, so I feel I have to be selfish on this one. I can totally imagine myself riding my motorbike on a sunny day, feeling the wind on my face and simply the freedom around me.

5. Visiting Tibet. You all know that I love traveling so of course I have a special country that I really want to visit and that's: TIBET. I’ve always thought about going to Tibet, but it isn’t easy to go there. All foreigners going to Tibet must have their travel arranged through a travel agency before arriving in Lhasa. Everything now has to be arranged in advance. All foreigners must have travel permits, a tour guide and a private vehicle and driver unless you’re staying in Lhasa. You also need a Chinese visa to travel to Tibet, which is being oppressed by China. Probably you won’t notice must as a tourist but I’ve been reading about it on the internet and it still makes me sad that nowadays people are not living in peace and freedom and have the opportunity to express their religious beliefs.

And last but not least, 6. Learn a new fight sport. My dream would be to go to China and learn Kung Fu, or maybe go to Japan and learn any other kind of fight sport. You guys know I love both kick and Thai boxing but I've always been interested in trying different sports.
So that’s all from my this time. What about you? What is on your bucket list? Feel free to share it in the comments.

Xoxo,

Thalita
